AVID Coordinator
Welcome to AVID @ Freedom Middle School. Our program prepares 6th, 7th and 8th grade students for the demands of a rigorous college curriculum through the development of a variety of study skills and supporting work in the classroom. Students are recommended through a screening process and then apply to be a part of our program, and all of them are interviewed by a panel of AVID teachers. AVID is a nationally recognized program that is proven to help instill a college-going culture at schools for students who are academically "in the middle." Our AVID students go on to become successful scholars in Honors, Advanced Placement, Science and Technology, and International Baccalaureate programs of study at a variety of public and private high schools.
