Good Day Panthers,

I am so very excited to return to Freedom Middle School as your community school principal. I began my adventure in education within these walls, and fields I should add, as a Physical Education teacher during the 2009-2010 school year. Dr. Timothy Smith was the inaugural principal here at that time and provided me my first opportunity to be a teacher. Since that time, I had ventured into different roles both here and within OCPS. I was a Dean here at Freedom Middle after my time in Physical Education. I then had the opportunity to become an acting assistant principal at Palmetto Elementary for a year. I then spent four years as an assistant principal right next door at Freedom High School, and my last three years I had the absolute pleasure of being appointed principal at Citrus Elementary School.

Thirteen years later, I find myself back where it all began. I have learned much in my time with Orange County Public Schools, having been exposed to all three levels of a child's education. I've built many relationships with staff, teachers, families, and students. I have also lived quite a very interesting life that I'd be happy to share with you if you wish to sit down sometime and chat. I have an amazing, supportive wife who has been by my side through all of it. I also have two amazing kids, one in middle school and one in elementary. All these experiences have lead me to my core beliefs:
          - Every brain can learn
          - Demography does not dictate destiny
          - People do not lack strength, they lack will
          - I expect the best for you. I expect the best from you

Below you will find a brief overview of Freedom Middle School in the form of an information sheet. Please feel free to reference this. If you have a question not addressed in here, please email us at [email protected]
