What is the Student Council?

Student Council is an organization that gives students a voice and an opportunity to influence the happenings at this school. Student Council is run by the students, for the students. We organize the Pasta for Pennies fundraiser to raise funds for those battling leukemia and lymphoma. Student Council also supports PTSA with all after-school festivals and assists with planning spirit week and other school events. We also participate in community service projects in and out of school.

Who can join the Student Council?

Student Council is open to anyone that would like to participate. On top of student participation, there are four elected officials. The position of President is open to 8th graders, Vice President is open to 7th and 8th graders, and Secretary and Treasurer are open to 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade students who are eligible.

What are the requirements in order to run for a Student Council officer position?

  • Maintain A/B grades for this year
  • No referrals from last year – Level 2 or above
  • Two teacher recommendations
