Educating our youth is the key to ensuring a bright future for our community and our country. The students who sit in our classrooms today will be the leaders of our world in the near future. I have a sincere passion for finding and tapping into the potential in each and every student who walks through our doors.
In 2015, I was named principal of Freedom Middle School and I am honored to serve the FMS community. I look forward to much success with the phenomenal staffulty, students, parents, and community members.
I am a mom of three remarkable children: Stephen, a sophomore at UCF; Justin, a sophomore at Ocoee High School; and Kaitlyn, an 8th grader at Ocoee Middle School. In my spare time, I love to read, swim, run and "play"; with my kids. On any given night and every weekend, I can be found with book in hand, watching my kids play the sports they love; baseball for my boys and cheer, tumbling, basketball, soccer for Kaitlyn.
The middle school years are pivotal years in a child's development socially, educationally, emotionally, and physically. At Freedom MS, we will continue to work to meet all our students' needs and to be a resource for our community.

I graduated with my bachelor degree in Exceptional Student Education from Florida Atlantic University (Go OWLS!) in Boca Raton, FL. I taught various ESE classes at the elementary and high school levels for 15 years. I have been a behavioral specialist for the past 13 years in Orange County. I received my masters' degree in Exceptional Student Education, with a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) I guess that makes me a "Knight-Owl?"; In my spare time, I enjoy reading and outdoor activities like swimming and hiking. I look forward to the 2019-2020 school year!

I am a proud mother of one beautiful daughter, I am educator with almost 12 years of classroom experience under my belt (private, charter, and public school) and I am a Florida Certified School Counselor! Helping Adolescents is my passion and purpose in life. I believe every person walking this earth has a purpose and if I can help my students begin to develop their purpose I feel as though I have been successful at what I am here to do. Adolescent years are very tough and they getting tougher by the day. Our students are having to navigate through territory that we never had to at their age. That is why I have dedicated my services to making sure that each student on our campus feels as though they have someone that they can reach out to when they are struggling. Whether it be academic, social or emotional issues, I am here to support.
